By sharing this testimony, I hope to inspire new and current believers in finding many reasons to trust and continue to trust in the transformative, restorative, and saving power of God through Jesus Christ.
In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old life has gone, and a new life has begun.” A new life had begun for me because Christ provided me with the true meaning and understanding of being born again, saved, and free from the bondage of sins. Because Christ provided me with a new spiritual perspective of life, magnifying and glorifying the name above all, God’s transformative and restorative healing has helped me surrender myself before His throne of grace, reside in His presence, and find a reason to proclaim His goodness to others.
My name is Johnson. I am originally from Haiti and I currently live in Rochester, New York with my family. I came to know Jesus after a high school classmate invited me in 1999 to a missionary home Bible study in Haiti, where they were studying the book of Romans. This was my first exposure to the notion of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and the need to be born again. However, I was not convinced enough to get myself baptized in the death and resurrection of Christ
Christ would reveal himself to me in 2009 at a Christian Revival that my aunt invited me while I was in Miami, Florida. During that revival, God made me understand that my spiritual wilderness was necessary before reaching the " spiritual promise land". (Exodus 15-18). Being convinced by the Holy Spirit through the voice of Pastor Evans Brilliant during this revival, I decided to get baptized which happened on September 27, 2009 later on at Riverview of Life Church, Tampa Florida.
Like the Israel people had to go through the wilderness after leaving Egypt, and crossing the Jourdan River before making it to the Promised Land, now Jesus helped me understand the very purpose that was behind of all those life challenges. By opening my spiritual eyes, He helped me discover and magnify His Name instead of the circumstances. As Paul would say: When you "do not conform" yourself to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, you will see how the spirit of Christ will gradually dwell in you and empower your life for the better. Because this transformation allows me now to discern God's will, I remain convinced that that Jesus had directed my path to allow me to connect, grow and bring closure to my long painful journey.
I am now fully convinced of the life, teachings, death, resurrection, and second coming of Jesus Christ. My family and I attend Crosstown Alliance Church in Greece, Rochester. My life is now dependent on God, and I find joy and peace in full devotion to Jesus Christ through the study of the Word, regular fellowship, breaking of bread, and a life of prayer as we are all awaiting His second coming. I created this blog as a safe space for anyone desiring to rejoin God's family and/or sharing their faith, love and joy for God while helping others to discover, develop and display their full devotion of Jesus-Christ. You Are Welcome!
May God Bless you
Johnson Jean.
